Wildflowers from the local deserts, mountains and foothills. Locations include Whitewater Preserve, Santa Rosa Plateau, Johnson's Pasture, Dalton Canyon, Colby Canyon and the foothills of Glendora and San Dimas.
The spring season of 2011 was outstanding for viewing wildflowers here in Southern California. With the rains continuing far into the spring season, and sunny periods popping in and out, the wildflower blooming season was extended.
This year we made a point of putting the time aside to get out and find wildflower blooms in as many locations as possible. We made this our priority for April and May (...and then June). And by luck, we often chose the right location at the right time.
We took a ton of pictures. Unfortunately I can't display them all here. I hope you enjoy the samples we have selected to share with you.
You can view enlargements of the pictures by either selecting them randomly below or, once you have viewed an enlarged image, you can use the "Prev" and "Next" buttons (to the left and right of the image respectively) to navigate amongst the remaining images.
ENJOY!
